1948 Cleveland Indians, No. 19 Bob Feller

Uniform and Team History

A team that truly broke the hearts of Boston baseball fans. After beating the Red Sox in a one-game playoff, the 1948 Cleveland Indians went on to defeat the Boston Braves in the World Series.

Oldtime Game History

Longtime Oldtime Baseball Game coach Brian Carey began wearing this uniform in 2004 in honor of his father, a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan. The only year he’s missed since then was 2017 when his duty as a Navy reservist required that he be in Norfiolk, Va.

Left-hander Jim Sweeney of Holy Cross, who wore it in 1999, was selected in the 14th round of the 2000 MLB amateur draft by the Chicago White Sox.
