1951 New York Giants, No. 21 Bobby Thomson

Uniform and Team History

Bobby Thomson’s three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth in a 1951 playoff game against the Brooklyn Dodgers to win the National League pennant for the New York Giants — otherwise known as the shot heard ‘round the world — remains one of the greatest moments in baseball history.

Oldtime Game History

Sportswriter Lindsay Berra, granddaughter of iconic Hall of Fame New York Yankees catcher Yogi Berra, wore this uniform as a coach in 2015 and ’16. (We eventually got Lindsay her own No. 8 Yankees uniform to honor her grandfather.) Our New York Giants uniform was first worn in 1998 by Haverhill High School infielder Alfredo Nunez, who would make a total of seven appearances in the Oldtime Baseball Game.
