The C2 Mission wishes to
thank the Oldtime Baseball Game, its organizers and sponsors
for allowing us to be the beneficiary of your game.
The C2 Mission is a
foundation created to benefit children and families affected
by Cerebral Palsy and Cystic Fibrosis in the New England
area.
Along with raising
money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and United Cerebral
Palsy of MetroBoston, another very special part of the C2
Mission is the
"Pick Me Up" program which directly impacts
families in the area. A family impacted by CF or CP has to
make many sacrifices. Their lives are forever affected.
The "Pick Me Up"
Program gives back to families who are simply in need of a
pick me up. It is not limited to the individual with CF or
CP and can be intended for the whole family.
Past pick me ups have
included a special birthday party for a little boy who
turned five. What was special about his birthday party was
it was the first birthday party he ever received because his
family could never afford one due to medical expenses. It
was a birthday party for the ages with a hall for his entire
family, caricatures, balloon animals and of course a Blues
Clues birthday cake.
Other pick me ups:
we're sending two families to Disney World, providing
therapeutic horse riding lessons, concerts, camps and much
more. The money raised through the C2 Mission has a direct
impact on families right here in the area affected by CF and
CP.
The C2 Mission was
started on March 15, 2005 with the hopes of helping as many
families with CF and CP as possible. Still very young, the
Foundation has had an immediate impact on many families and
there is a current waiting list of families asking for "Pick
Me Ups." One of the Foundation's many goals in the present
and in the future is to assist every family that asks for
help.
The C2 Mission is very
appreciative and thankful to the Oldtime Baseball Game for
selecting them. The Foundation was started by a husband and
wife team with a dream to help families with CF and CP, but
quickly realized that in order for their dreams to be
successful they could not do it alone. The Oldtime Baseball
Game, the sponsors and the fans of the game are providing
the very help they need. Thanks you so much from the C2
Mission!
Sincerely,
Lauren and Jon
